Rowan

During this summer session, I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous high school senior, Rowan. We decided to meet at Powell Butte Nature Park and hike all the way up for her shoot and let me just say, it was absolutely worth it. The golden hour was breathtaking and Rowan was an absolute dream to work with. She was open to all of my ideas, eg. using a fern leaf next to her face for a close-up portrait, and allowed me to capture some candid senior pictures that really showcased her unique style. As a photographer, I really believe in the importance of contemplative photography. It's all about taking a moment to really see what's in front of you. I wanted to not only create beautiful pictures but also memories that she could look back on and feel the emotions all over again. It was a truly magical day filled with great conversations, lots of laughs, and of course, some stunning pictures. I hope this post gives you a little glimpse into my approach to photography and how I strive to create meaningful portraits for all of my clients.

If you're looking for a stunning location for a photo session, Powell Butte Nature Park is a beautiful option and a favorite among many photographers. Located at 16160 SE Powell Blvd in Portland, OR, the park offers breathtaking views of the cityscape and surrounding nature. We recommend taking advantage of the various hiking trails throughout the park for a variety of photo opportunities. Additionally, we recommend scheduling your photo session for "golden hour" (one hour before sunset), as the warm, soft light will make for stunning photos. Make sure you lock your car and hide the valuables, there have been car break-ins in the past.
