Your style questions answered.

Photos are not static. They can be expressive and alive, all we have to do is allow for it. I recommend wearing clothes that can highlight your style & movement. Think of our session as a video shoot & let yourself enjoy it.
It will be relaxed and I will do my best to make you feel comfortable. My only goal is for you to love your photo. Your goal is to trust me and try to relax as much as possible (it’s hard, I know). Pets are incredibly helpful at relaxing their owners & are always welcome at my sessions. You don't have to spend a ton of money, think Banana Republic, Forever21, H&M, Zara & Morning Lavender have great options. Don't want to buy? No problem there are great options to rent - Rent the Runway or Stitch Fix.
P.S. I've curated a style board, please feel free to get inspired.
What to wear:
Make sure the clothes reflect your personality and make you feel powerful. Don't be shy about trying something new - pair the unexpected (wool & lace, silk & chunky knit). You want to look like yourself on your best day, & not look like you tried too hard. Start by creating three looks:
- Short & Sweet
- Long & Classy
- Casual & Chic
I highly recommend getting a nice long skirt/dress. It photographs incredibly pretty! Something about the way it moves just pushes the photos to a different dimension.
Bring as many outfits as you'd like (we can pick together if in doubt)
Accessories are so helpful: hats, earrings, necklaces, scarfs, etc.
Create layers with a cardigan, blazer, or jacket (sweater works too!)
*Avoid logos.
The Night Before:
Water is our friend - stay hydrated
Love your face and hands (moisturize the night before and morning of)
Clean & iron/steam your clothes (use hangers in the car)
Layout what you will bring to the shoot, don't forget the shoes
Try to get a good night's sleep!
The Day Of:
Visit a dry bar/hair salon and get your hair cut, colored, or styled (even the day before)
Make-up should accentuate your eyes (eyeliner & mascara often do the trick)
Skin has a fresh and natural feel (I can retouch the blemishes, go light on foundation)
Treat yourself to a manicure & pedicure
Grab a light snack & bring water with you
Neutrals including pastels, cream, grey, chambray, beige
Accent colors to consider are mustard, green, burgundy, turquoise
Treat black & white as an accent color
One of the most important parts - you have to feel comfortable & confident in what you are wearing.
